June Stitchin Meeting

The Sistas held our monthly meeting recently and there was lots of new things to show and see and talk about. First, our monthly strip club continued with participants bring in 20 five-and-a-half inch yellow/gold strips for the month of June - next month we'll be switching back to two-and-a-half inch strips. Here we see Mary-Ellen and Gigi putting together collections of the strips for each participating Sista.

We had tons of activity this month with the Donell's block party - every month is a different theme for the block and for May it was circles so a few Sistas brought their blocks showing circles - here Donelle is showing her circles block, aren't you loving that thread play in her block! Donelle also brought last month's hearts block. Next was Joan with her circle of pink flowers and she also brought last months block of hearts. Mary Ellen made a vibrant and colorful circle block. Gigi's circle block was a colorful flower - sorry for the bad photo there - let's blame that one on user error but at least I got her pinwheele in focus. Next month's block party theme is Log Cabins - here Donelle shows off a couple log cabin blocks. Our wonderful historian/secretary Jayne provided a history of the monthly blocks: The Block Party started in February with 4 patch, March was 1/2 triangle square, April was pinwheels, May was hearts, and June is log cabins.
